We Can't Change Their Past,
But We Can Rewrite Their Future
MORE THAN 333 ANIMALS RESCUED SINCE 2023 AND COUNTING...
Our Story
Born from a deep love of animals (and a few late-night rescue missions), Howling Hideaway Rescue was founded by Jen Nelson , with the helping hands of her niece Allison Holden and longtime friends Jenn Reid, Melanie Maitland, and Katie Niblock. After years of fostering and working in animal rescue, they decided it was time to carve out a space of their own.
The spark? A mastiff mix abandoned in a ditch and a message from Melanie. That one rescue turned into four more puppies, five kittens, a stray, and a puppy mill mama, all in care within days. Before long, we had not-for-profit status, social media accounts, and a growing community of support.
Special thanks to Laura Jane’s Pet Food and Supplies in Perth, ON for their unwavering generosity and to Athens Veterinary Services for their compassionate, top-notch care.
Thanks to our fosters, partners, and donors!
we're making it happen, one rescue at a time.

Our Mission
Howling Hideaway Rescue is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting and advocating for animals in need. Through a compassionate network of fosters, volunteers, and community partners, we provide safe refuge for animals in crisis and a path toward a brighter future.
We offer support to people who are welcoming a new pet into their home, as well as to those who need to rehome an animal. Every pet deserves care, dignity, and a loving place to land.
Our mission is simple, but powerful:
To rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals.
To advocate for their wellbeing.
And to educate the public on building a kinder, safer world for all creatures.
